AMA PRA Statement:
The ASTS designates this educational activity for a maximum of 12.25 Category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
Learning Objectives:
1. Review operative strategies to optimize the safety of living kidney and liver donors.
2. Discuss approaches to evaluate and manage challenging risk factors in transplantation candidates including arterial and venous disease, obesity and prior transplantation.
3. Analyze outcomes of transplantation using complex donor organs such as:
- those with anatomical variations or surgical trauma.
- those from unstable or non-heart beating donors.
